Field Service Technician
Position Summary:
The Field Technician I position provides installation, maintenance, and support service for our customers around the world. The Field Technician supports department and company objectives for premier customer service through the provision of hands-on equipment installations, commissioning and troubleshooting in the field as well as basic training for the customer as required and company technical personnel. The provision of training will include basics of field operation, maintenance, theory of operation, design and handling diagnostics relating to SONARtrac and other Company platforms. The Field Technician is expected to maintain good customer relations and high-level customer satisfaction by serving as the company liaison on product and service technical matters for installations and maintenance.
Experience:
Associates Degree, or trade certification (electrical and/or mechanical) with a minimum of 2-5 years of experience as a field technician, installing and servicing mechanical and electrical instrumentation along with experience in troubleshooting
Must be proficient with a computer and software such as Microsoft Excel and Word
This position requires solid multi-tasking abilities and excellent written and communication skills
Must be able to explain basic technical issues regarding CiDRA products to an audience with a varied degree of understanding regarding CiDRA products
Must have the ability to work in a team environment
Multilingual preferred but not required
Must be able to work overtime and flexible hours
Must prove physical fitness to lift up to 60 pounds and pass physical exam
Must be able to work from heights. Job requires climbing ladders, scaffolding, and working in JLG baskets
Must have valid driver’s license
Requires domestic and international travel, up to 40%. Duration of travel can span consecutive weeks and weekends
Job Functions & Responsibilities:
Work with customers, CiDRA engineers, service technicians, and global sales team members, including sales representatives and distributors to provide installation and maintenance services related to CiDRA technologies
Work with customers, CiDRA engineers, service technicians, and business development team members to provide application and site surveys, services, field trials and/or demonstrations at customer sites
Provide presales technical support to help the CiDRA engineering and business development organizations to interpret customer requirements, determine the suitability of CiDRA equipment and / or services for the application
As required, provide technical training to customers or in-house personnel
Function as the main focal point for technical questions, customer support requests and coordination of unresolved customer application issues in assigned area or locale
Maintain higher-level expertise for CiDRA products and their application in the markets / industries that we serve
Complete required company and customer documentation, writing reports as required
Achieve prompt, mutually satisfactory solutions to customer complaints and problems
