About the position:
The Medical Education Program Intern works to provide support to our program operations team, preceptors, and hospital systems while our preceptors provide educational experiences to AMO’s medical trainees. This individual will support the department to optimize functionality and output through proactive document coordination and engagement with preceptors and hospitals that will allow the Programs team to meet and exceed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
This internship is a flexible 20-28 hours a week position for a length of three (3) months with the possibility of extension.
While this position can be fully remote, we are looking for candidates to be residents of Illinois.
Internship Projects:
Trainee document coordination – the intern will organize, review, and confirm documents submitted by the trainees. Interns will also be responsible for ensuring the information provided is complete and correct
Proactive preceptor outreach – the intern will communicate with preceptors and hospital contacts to ensure documents are received as early as possible and the students meet the requirements for programs set by preceptors. Interns will also reach out to program contacts to collect updates to program information and availability
Update tracking tools, program information, and preceptor credentials as needed
Assist Program team members with a variety of medium- and long-term projects as needed
Essential Functions:
Build and maintain good relationships with preceptors to ensure customer satisfaction and success
Develop a strong understanding of preceptor challenges and demonstrate a positive, proactive, solution-based approach to resolving challenges
Maintain strong working relationships with all AMO team members
Build and expand on current physician outreach efforts
Develop and maintain a knowledge base of evolving products and services
Deliver best-in-class customer service across multiple platforms (phone, email, and text)

Proficient in Microsoft Office; including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Education and Experience:
Pursuing or completed a bachelor’s degree in a related field
Previous customer service experience
Experience managing multiple tasks
Experience with CRM or other email management systems
Experience working in a fast-paced startup culture
Experience communicating with doctors in a professional setting preferred
