We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented VP, Finance for our fast-growing beauty company! The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, take initiative to complete tasks and is comfortable interfacing with both internal departments and third-party accounting support. This role will report primarily to our founder-CEO but will also work with sales and operations teams. We look forward to hearing from you!
Qualifications
•
Undergraduate Degree in Accounting
•
9+ years of relevant work experience.
•
CPA required
•
Experience with Direct-to-Consumer industries and Beauty Wholesale required
•
Strong understanding of US GAAP (including ASC 606, inventory, prepaids and accrued expenses)
•
Strong understanding of Quickbooks Online and Bill.com
•
Strong understanding of Dear Inventory Management and Shopify and POS (retail) systems
•
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and team player
•
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Tech-savvy.
•
Highly organized detail-oriented individual with strong sense of ownership.
•
Strategic, analytical, and agile thinker with problem-solving skills
•
Ability to comprehend both big-picture and minute details. Ability to do financial modeling with the CEO and sales team.
•
Ability to design and implement new processes for new business arrangements (i.e., Omnichannel) to be compliant with company policy and US GAAP.
Responsibilities
•
The VP, FINANCE will be responsible for accurate financial accounting and controls, management of the Controller and external accounting team.
•
The VP, FINANCE shall be able to build detailed modeling, forecasting and reports.
•
This position will have regular interaction with operations, ecommerce and marketing teams.
•
The role will report to the CEO and support key accounting processes including the management of multiple simultaneous projects and develop presentations that articulate findings and actionable recommendations
•
Lead the month-end and quarter-end financial statement close process, including managing external controller and third-party accounting teams
•
Lead evaluation of transactions for appropriate accounting treatment
•
Serve as Subject Matter Expert for certain accounting related activities and transactions
•
Partner with the third-party controller and accounting teams during the planning and budget process
•
Ensure compliance with Company Policies
•
Proactively identify and implement process improvements
•
Support annual internal and external audits if needed.
•
Contribute to the preparation and distribution of monthly financial reporting packages to senior management, outside investors and executive team
•
Investigate reporting discrepancies and communicate issues in a timely manner
•
Produce, manage and have full ownership of board of directors/ investors reporting metrics
•
Continually develop, expand, and improve month-end close and financial reporting procedures
•
Perform and lead ad hoc accounting and finance requests and special projects, as assigned

• Competitive pay, salary range $150,000-$180,000. Note that the salary range is highly dependent on experience, background and other factors, and can differ from the listed range.
