Enrich Biosystems has developed a bench-top laboratory instrument that enables short and long-term studies of interactions between living cells. The need for these studies is very broad- including cancer, immunology, and stem cells, in activities ranging from pure research to drug development and clinical therapies.

Our instrument is now in testing and validation with external collaborators. In engineering, we are working on the transition of the design to manufacturing and adding features requested by our collaborators.

Senior Software Development Engineer

We are looking for a senior software engineer with strong experience developing code for embedded microcontroller systems and also user-facing control and data analysis code for a Windows platform.

Our instrument contains precision electromechanical motion systems, laser illumination, a high-resolution camera, and environmental controls. Significant experience in embedded systems programming using Python is required; C++ knowledge is a plus.

The desktop application includes instrument control/user interface and image analysis. We are looking for UX coding experience using QT and database interface experience.

An important feature of our application is the recognition and tracking of living cells from microscopy images. We are both working with outside groups and internally to develop image-processing tools to embed in our application. Experience with OpenCV libraries of image processing tools, and cloud-based tools in particular would be valuable.

In this role, you will be responsible for architecture, coding, and validating both the embedded and desktop code, initially as an individual contributor but with an opportunity to lead others as the company grows.

We are looking for a person with experience in a commercial organization using a modern software development methodology and tools for development, testing, and management.

The company is located in a modern business park in Branford, CT.

Join our small but productive team and help a promising technology become an important tool in fighting cancer and immunological disease. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, including stock options.

ABOUT ENRICH BIOSYSTEMS

Enrich’s technology was developed by a scientist struggling with the complex workflow of monitoring cell/cell interactions using existing tools. It is remarkably simple and easy to use, providing a low-risk, affordable ($100-250K) tool for academic and biotech labs.

Strong interest in this new instrument has led to collaborations with high-profile academic and biotech labs. Our initial focus is on CAR-T and NK immuno-oncology therapies and stem cell enrichment, two applications representing very large market opportunities.

Enrich was born in 2018 and nurtured using $2.3M of SBIR and NIH contract funding. An oversubscribed venture financing in mid-2022 provided additional capital to bring the product and team into commercialization. Additional funds have been earmarked for growth by the initial venture investors.

The company is currently focused on collaborations with external academic and biotech labs to validate the technology while working on the transition of prototype instrument and consumables to manufacturing and sales in 2024.

Our founding team of scientists and engineers is growing to include members who will bring the product to commercial-ready and grow our sales, marketing, and customer support organizations.
