We are looking for a Senior Data Center Asset Management Engineer who can lead in designing and implementing Data Center (DC) Asset Management business processes; develop and maintain policies, standards, processes, controls and measurements that enable the organization to manage the DC Asset Portfolio with respect to cost, control, compliance and business performance objectives.
This leader will have the opportunity to collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure that overall business objectives are met. To develop an optimal hardware supply chain, procurement, inventory management controls and vendor management operations for LinkedIn and support all efforts related to Global Asset Lifecycle Operations. This will include work (but not limited to) in supply chain allocation, stocking solutions, hardware acquisition, product offerings and transitions, compliance, asset disposals and life-cycle planning for LinkedIn data center hardware.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, plans and execution of governance, compliance and security policies and processes of managing critical assets in the data center sites
- Ensure the deployment of asset tag controls across all data center hardware with seamless receiving process of all orders delivered to data center sites and management of records in the asset database
- Collect feedback on existing and new processes deployed at the data centers and lead adjustments in workflows to support engineering operations at scale
- Partner with Fixed Asset team on data center asset reporting, Security and Compliance team on all deliverables related to data center asset audits efforts and implementation of strict asset policies
- Empower a culture of safety, security and compliance in all aspects of data center asset activities
- Identify risks, gaps, and opportunities and communicate to stakeholders and other teams to drive resolution on process improvements and implementation of new technology to scale operations and in alignment with strict asset protection and policies
- Ensure operational effectiveness and efficiency of the overall data center hardware asset management workflows and standards
- Ensure there are clear metrics across all key performance indicators (KPIs) and strong vendor performance management with all LinkedIN approved suppliers/partners
- Collaborate between data center business stakeholders, engineering sourcing and legal to maximize contract value and mitigate risk data center hardware purchases
- Establish internal standards, processes, and templates for working with vendors and automating processes where applicable leveraging industry best practices and technology.
- Assist in supplier onboarding, operations, transitions and implementation of order to delivery tracking and standards for data center hardware
- Partner with an engineering sourcing team to develop and maintain positive relationships with all third party vendors
- Assist in resolving purchasing and order inquiries, supply constraints and work with appropriate vendors and distribution partners to ensure stocking and supply for all LI locations
- Partner with supply chain and data center engineering to ensure quarterly supply readiness to support engineering projects and operations.
- Partner with data center engineering and planning/spend team on budget and delivery of inventory related operations, projects and initiatives
- Implement supply chain models/processes to support supply chain requirements and financial controls
- Partner with hardware vendors/suppliers to ensure supply allocation, stocking solutions, warehousing and help streamline the ordering process and logistics for LinkedIn at scale
- Lead in the execution of policies to ensure chain of custody and security in managing stock in the data center storage rooms and facilities
- Serve as a point of escalation to resolve issues related to assets in data center sites.
- Lead coordinated efforts that impact global timelines for retrofits, decommissions, and new construction within data center sites or a wider region
- Lead, create and manage data center asset end to end project plans and ensure on-time delivery
- Serve as a product owner for all related asset management tools and systems. This includes enhancements in systems and tools to further evolve/improve asset operations.
- Ensure data integrity of all asset records in the data center asset database. Conduct regular asset audits and cycle counts to ensure alignment with existing records
- Lead in the design reports and dashboards to visualize data center asset operational metrics to measure success and continuous execution and adherence to asset policies
- Ensure proper documentation and records are maintained in accordance with internal policies, processes and accurate recording of all assets retirements
- Lead the data center end of life program pertaining to system decommissions, partnership with recycling vendors, destruction of all retired data bearing devices and asset retirement projects and audits
Basic Qualifications:
- BA/BS Degree in Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Business or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong Program and Project Management skills
- 3+ years of experience in hardware supply chain, asset management, procurement or vendor management in a technology environment.
- 3+ years of experience in Procurement, Incident Management and Asset Management tools
Preferred Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in hardware supply chain, asset management, procurement or vendor management in a technology environment.
- Experience in ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library)
- 8+ years of experience in Procurement, Incident Management and Asset Management tools
- IAITAM/CITAM or equivalent certification

Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
