\nYour role will involve establishing and maintaining robust accounting and finance processes, supporting project-level financial needs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive profitability initiatives. \nThayerMahan designs, builds, deploys, and operates autonomous sensing systems. In the defense market, our technology and operational approach enables effective and efficient maritime domain awareness in support of naval undersea warfare, homeland security, and protection of borders, natural resources, and undersea infrastructure. In the commercial market, we support sustainable US Offshore Wind development through acoustic monitoring and noise mitigation to protect endangered marine species. and provides maritime domain awareness for combatting illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing and protecting endangered species.

\nRole and Responsibilities:
- \n
- \nEstablish project-level accounting and finance processes: You will be responsible for creating and maintaining efficient financial systems that provide operations personnel with timely and accurate financial information. \n
- \nLead timely project-level invoicing and expense recording: Ensure that project invoicing and expense recording are executed in a timely and accurate manner to support smooth operations. \n
- \nOversee and train operations accountants: You'll lead and mentor a team of operations accountants to ensure they provide adequate support to project managers and operations, particularly in project cost accounting and profitability analysis. \n
- \nTrain project manager personnel: Collaborate with project managers to educate them on financial expectations and the use of project accounting functions within their organizations. \n
- \nReview and diagnose project profitability: You will analyze project profitability and work closely with operations to identify areas for improvement. \n
- \nCollaborate with operations on profitability initiatives: Join forces with the operations team to drive initiatives that enhance project profitability and financial performance. \n
- \nReport operations accounting and finance information: Provide executive leadership with comprehensive reports on the financial health of operations. \n
- \nContribute to pricing: Play a crucial role in pricing products and services, as requested. \n
- \nForecast capex needs: Work closely with operations to forecast capital expenditure (capex) requirements for various projects. \n
- \nOversee project-level forecasting efforts: Ensure that operations' forecasting efforts align with financial objectives and provide valuable insights for decision-making. \n
- \n
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration \n
- 5+ years of operations accounting experience \n
- \n
- Strong organizational and management skills \n
- Ability to maintain adherence to financial reporting schedules \n
- Strong communication skills \n
- \n
- Understanding of organizational structure \n
