Buyer (Fixed Term Contract)

Position Summary

 

Purchasing and supplier performance management of complex original equipment (OE), legacy and spares components for the Aerospace Industry.

Position Information

 

This is a Fixed Term Contract position which may be for up to 12 months.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

•    Management of the purchase requisitions for timely placement of purchase orders and sub-contract orders for suppliers, as required
•    Ensure appropriate quality instructions and customer requirements are flowed to suppliers
•    Coordinate delivery status, communicate internally and manage supplier recovery to support the business requirements
•    Manage import of goods with detailed management of ITAR and related customs regulatory requirements
•    Risk Management with appropriate escalation
•    Manage supplier delivery performance and associated metrics 
•    Hold regular supplier business reviews
•    Negotiate best cost and payment terms
•    Support supplier selection and assessment process 
•    Invoice query resolution 
•    Work with wider Triumph team to implement long term agreements
•    Completion of any work related tasks which would be deemed reasonable for this role. 

 

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

 

•    Previous experience in a purchasing role is essential, preferably Aerospace but not essential
•    Inter-operational process management experience with a good knowledge of purchasing procedures
•    Ability to read and translate Engineering drawings and documentation, to extent required for this role
•    Trained in continuous improvement tools and techniques would be an advantage
•    Excellent Excel skills
•    Excellent communication and negotiation skills required 
•    Understanding of raw material, forgings, machining, supplier manufacturing processes and treatments would be an advantage
•    Previous experience of Syteline Business systems an advantage.

 

Position Details 

 

•    Flexible working location – based out of either Deeside or Cheltenham, however Deeside location would be preferred
•    Travel to UK and international suppliers and other Triumph sites
•    Hours of Employment: 37 hours a week. Flexibility may be required.
