Summary

Senior member of Triumph’s team responsible for Employee Health & Safety and Sustainability & ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) and will help develop and execute the strategic direction and enhancement of environmental related sustainability initiatives and monitor programs to ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal ordinances regarding safety programs, health, environmental plans, as well as ensuring industry standards are attained.

 

This position will also be responsible for defining and developing comprehensive and effective plans to ensure that Triumph delivers on Sustainability & ESG while collaborating and coordinating across functions and local communities on resolving environmental and social issues. Lead the strategic development ad continual enhancement of Employee Health & Safety initiatives as well as enterprise ESG goals and initiatives that aim to strengthen risk mitigation and create long-term business value for the company.

 

In this role, the individual will be responsible for managing all Environmental, Health, and Safety programs as well as ensuring industry standards are attained across the company. This position will also be responsible for convening internal ESG conversations to drive corporate ESG strategy and produce recommendations on actions, policy, or behavior changes by working with internal stakeholders to enact these recommendations and develop a cohesive narrative around them.

Responsibilities

Implement a ESG Management system Implement an ESG management system including policies, procedures and guidelines. Ensure compliancy with applicable external regulations and internal directives.

 

Environmental, Health & Safety: Oversee and monitor the safety and environmental compliance of site programs, including overseeing the programs and training of site personnel, and providing recommendations to prevent future health and safety problems. Supports the development and execution of corporate safety programs and policies; responsible for ensuring implementation of the programs throughout the company, as well as with key third-party partners. Coordinates and leads safety and environmental audits at each facility on a regular basis for primary suppliers (Ops and Supply chain) and tracks performance.

 

Provide ESG & EHS Subject Matter Expertise Research and monitor ESG/EHS issue areas, emerging trends, governance, reporting and measurement. Possess thorough understanding of reporting frameworks and industry standards. Develop awareness of ESG & EHS best practices, particularly by peer companies. Assess performance against those trends, standards and best practices, and recommend actions to best align our priorities and efforts. Identify data gaps, knowledge gaps, and recommend strategies/tactics to close those gaps;

 

Project Management. Manage the overall ESG & EHS timelines, coordinating regularly with functions responsible for particular issues. Educate internal stakeholders on related topics;

 

Data and Analysis Coordinate the collection, validation, analysis and communication of ESG & EHS data. Support internal and external audit processes. Support functional support groups and divisions in development of goals and targets. Work with functions on various related projects Analyze and interpret data and information. Conduct projects and ad hoc analysis as needed;

 

Communications. Distill and present internal and external data to assist corporate leaders with directing sustainability/ESG/EHS objectives and initiatives. Prepare communications related to ESG & EHS for both internal and external audiences, including talking points, memos, e-mail updates, dashboards, scorecards, presentations and reports. Manage the timely development, production and dissemination of the annual ESG / sustainability report.

Qualifications

Undergraduate BS/BA degree. Bachelor's degree in Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental, Science, Engineering, or similar discipline preferred;

8+ years of management experience preferably related to Environmental, Health and Safety

Leadership and/or management of environmental, health, safety, and/or ESG program activities, with a minimum of 5 years as a manager, responsible for decision making and directing the progress of staff and/or programs.

Specialized Knowledge

Demonstrated experience on the ESG landscape, including strong understanding of all ESG reporting frameworks, ratings agencies, and evolving regulatory developments on ESG, as well as familiarity with leading ESG influencers and organizations.

Demonstrable knowledge of ESG frameworks, standards and trends is required.

Demonstrated experience working with and building positive relationships with OSHA and other federal/state/local officials.

Demonstrated experience in leading EHS including audits and inspections developing remediation plans as needed.

Broad and proven knowledge of Sustainability & ESG related matters and the ability to implement the knowledge into work practices.

Strong quantitative and analytical skills required with ability to track, measure, and identify improvement solutions.

Demonstrated ability to deliver results with a strong sense of urgency.

Creative thinker and problem-solver with strong interest in executing new strategies to drive increasing value to our customers, partners, suppliers, shareholders, and employees.

Superior interpersonal communications skills who can summarize and articulate large volumes of information to meet the different needs of internal and external audiences

Proven history of proactively managing environmental projects, consultants, vendors, contractors, and service providers

Travel may be required.
