We partner with key manufacturers to produce crucial components, systems and subsystems required to help maintain a competitive and technological advantage. We provide design, development and support of internally designed components, subsystems and systems, as well as production of complex assemblies.
Position
Triumph is currently seeking a Heat Exchanger Thermal Engineer to be located at West Hartford who will support Triumph’s Forest, Ohio location.
Responsibilities
•Creates designs by analyzing product or equipment specifications, performance requirements, and existing manufacturing capabilities.
•Performs complex design, fabrication, modification, and evaluation of mechanical or electromechanical components, subsystems, and systems by applying engineering principals and established analytical tools.
•Investigates pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replaceability, strength-weight efficiency, contractual specification requirements, cost-defining recommendations, and change proposals.
•Create internal system requirements specification from customer requirements including listings of assumptions to be discussed with further customer contact.
•Perform relevant structural design analyses with respect to fuel pumping systems, vapor cooling systems, and/or actuation systems.
•Lead engineering trade studies and analysis relevant to heat exchangers and related system components.
•Able to recommend design feature modifications to alleviate stress concerns, while being mindful of impact to weight and manufacturability.
•Develops data and may make preliminary layouts, sketches, notes, and documentation in response to customer proposal requests.
•Perform detailed design analyses and present results to customers in support of design reviews.
•Reviews drawings and layouts to ensure clarity, completeness, form, fit, function, and conformity to standards, procedures, and specifications.
•Self-motivated and ability to work independently with minimal guidance and as part of a team.
•Ability and willingness to travel as required to Forest, OH frequently.
Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree (BS) in mechanical, electrical, or aerospace engineering or a related technical discipline.
•Minimum of 5 years of industry experience.
•Specific interest in heat exchanger design, system components, packaging, component design and analysis.
•Able to read and understand hydraulic schematics and troubleshoot fluid and mechanical systems.
•Practical knowledge of mechanical, electronic, packaging, and/or optics engineering principles, theories, concepts, and techniques, industry practices, regulations, and policies.
•Strong technical communication skills (written and verbal).
•Ability to meet project deadlines/schedule within budget.
