Based in West Hartford CT, Triumph Systems, Electronics and Controls is a leading independent aerospace system supplier for the commercial and military helicopter and business jet markets and employs approximately 500 employees. The Company’s key products and services include electronic engine controls, fuel metering units, main fuel pumps and environmental control systems for both the OE and aftermarket/spares end markets.

Position
We have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Intern to join our West Hartford, CT team.
This person will demonstrate the ability to execute successful product development programs for new or modified product on schedule and within budget from initial concept design through production transition.
Responsibilities
Effectively support an integrated product team in the development of new products
• Communicate with coworkers on technical and project management related topics
• Prepare component specifications, test plans, and test reports
• Provide support of mechanical test activities (setup and testing)
• Support team level RCCA activities to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical products, including hydromechanical controls and/or thermal systems.
• Review/monitor schedule and budget commitments relative to assigned projects and communicate risks to management.
• Ensure new product development procedures are adhered to and that recommendations for continuous improvement and lessons learned are documented.
• Identify process and product improvements (new products and legacy products) and implement changes.
• Multi-task, execute cross-functional activities, and drive projects to successfully meet key milestones. • Foster good working relationships with customers, suppliers and internal departments.
Qualifications
Student at accredited university working towards a BS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering; PMP certification, MS or MBA degree a plus.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings (GD&T).
• Strong technical writing skills a plus.
• Experience working in product development teams, creating project plans, performing risk assessments and working resource plans necessary for successful program execution a plus.
• Hands-on mechanical product assembly, inspection and/or testing experience a plus.
