Based in West Hartford CT, Triumph Systems, Electronics and Controls is a leading independent aerospace system supplier for the commercial and military helicopter and business jet markets and employs approximately 500 employees. The Company’s key products and services include electronic engine controls, fuel metering units, main fuel pumps and environmental control systems for both the OE and aftermarket/spares end markets.

Position

We have an exciting opportunity for an Intern, Systems Engineer to join our West Hartford, CT team. The ideal candidate will support activities related to the development and evaluation of engine control systems for small turbine engines and thermal control systems. These activities include developing system-level requirements, test procedure and report generation, test equipment checkout and lab evaluations. The ideal candidate for this position should have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, good writing ability, and must be self-motivated with good interpersonal and team skills.

Responsibilities

•Requirements and architecture analysis
•Safety and Failure Mode Analysis
•Product cybersecurity risk analysis
•Control stability analysis and simulations
•Test procedure automation support and process automation
•Control system test development, review, and execution
Tool development to automate/expedite field return investigation.
•Control system program review and coding support
•Field problem analysis and solution development.

Qualifications

•Qualified candidates must be entering their Junior or Senior Year, with a minimum GPA of 3.0, pursuing an Advanced Technical Degree (B.S. or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering or Computer Engineering. Master’s degree candidates are also welcome to apply.
•Mechanical Engineers must have comfort and familiarity with control systems and software.
•Experience with Labview, Matlab/Simulink, Visual Studio, Cybersecurity, and/or Software coding preferred.
•Ability to work in a team environment collaborating with Engineers and other Interns.
