Our operations team is seeking a Chocolate Production Operator. This position will be on-site at our production facility in Hudson, NY with operating hours Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 4 PM.

Overview of the Chocolate Production Operator

We are on the hunt for high performing and experienced food production employees for our manufacturing facility in Hudson, NY.

As a production employee with 1906, you will be part of our production team responsible for producing chocolate and other edibles. This includes ensuring food safety, GMPs, and process controls are being followed while meeting quality standards. This position reports to and works directly with the Production Manager to drive success and improve operations. 1906’s operations are dynamic; often, there are times in which our duties expand outside of our job titles. JOB SUMMARY:

As a Chocolate Production Operator, you play a critical role in our mission, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency in our chocolate production. You will organize, coordinate, and communicate day-to-day operational production activities and ensure the secure start up and shut down of the facility. You will ensure that all jobs are performed following all company, safety and quality policies while maintaining high productivity.

Responsibilities

  • All facets of chocolate production which include identifying raw materials needed for a given batch against the existing inventory, sorting raw materials to optimize finished product, chocolate coating production (panning), quality control of finished product, and adherence to the daily production schedule.
  • Follow all Company’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Oversee, maintain and exceed sanitation standards to meet all regulatory, company, and customer requirements.
  • Provides the highest level of both internal and external customer service at all times.
  • Inspect equipment and products to verify that all products are produced within specifications using the predetermined quality parameters.
  • Responsible for improving working conditions, throughput, morale, quality of product, and production efficiencies.
  • Complete and maintain all required paperwork and documents, including standard operating procedures (SOP’s), and other regulatory documentation.
  • Ensure the overall safety of employees through training programs, plant security and equipment safety.
  • Responsible for start-up, safe operation, change over, shut down and preventative maintenance of assigned production equipment.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience within a food production environment with knowledge of food sanitation processes and procedures.
  • Experience and working knowledge of production equipment, scheduling and inventory control.
  • Willingness and ability to resolve problems and jump right in to help. Must demonstrate the ability to resolve issues in a timely, organized and cost efficient manner
  • Startup mentality is highly desirable.
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proactive, self-directed independent worker, with self confidence
  • Ability to multi-task and troubleshoot problems on a daily basis. Ability to manage time and prioritize work as needed
  • Team player with the ability to work in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment
  • HACCP trained a plus
  • Strong commitment and established track record of processes documentation and improvement
  • Proven track record of improved results in the areas of quality, safety, service and cost
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks, stand for long periods of times, move quickly and lift 70 pounds occasionally.
  • Must have flexibility with work schedule including evenings and weekends when necessary
  • Ability to pass Company pre-employment background check
