Position

We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineering Manager to join our West Hartford, CT Team. The Systems Engineering Manager will work closely with customers, the Program Management organization, and other engineering disciplines in a team environment to develop and support Triumph’s products.

Responsibilities

•Organizes and directing the activities of the Systems Engineering group.
•Ensuring the proper resources are available and assigned to complete the Systems Engineering activities on a program.
•Helping employees within the group develop their knowledge/skills and achieve their career goals.
•Leading continuous improvement efforts to reduce product development cycle time.
•Monitoring and controlling Systems Engineering activities on product development programs.
•Managing internal costs while maintaining scheduled commitments.
•Preparing proposals for new business opportunities.

Qualifications

•A minimum of 10 years of experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, or other applicable field.
•Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Systems Engineering.
•Experience developing products involving mechanical, electrical, and software components.
•Experience managing a team of engineers.
•Must have demonstrated ability to hit milestones and resolve roadblocks to successfully complete a project.
•Ability to act with confidence and decisiveness.
•Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
•Previous experience working in a lean organization, with a commitment to fostering continuous improvement.
•System design skills including development of system architectures, trade studies, and requirements/specification development.
•Knowledge of systems engineering tools for system sizing, analysis, and requirements management such as Matlab, Simulink, DOORS, and UML/SysML.
•Knowledge of RTCA DO-178, DO-254, DO-160, and ARP4754 specifications.
•Basic understanding of reliability, FMEA, FTA, and/or CMA.
•Experience with model-based development techniques
•Experience with use and design of dSPACE and LabView based electronic automated test equipment (or other similar closed loop test systems).
•Experience creating, monitoring, and controlling project schedules and estimating resource needs.
•Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
•Ability and willingness to travel approximately 5-10%.
