Responsibilities

Triumph Group designs, engineers, manufactures, repairs, and overhauls a broad portfolio of aviation and industrial components, accessories, subassemblies, systems, and aircraft structures. Triumph Actuation Products & Services Valencia designs, manufactures, assembles, and tests Hydraulic Actuation Components for the Aerospace Industry. We provide landing gears sub-systems, flight control hydraulic valves, actuators, hydraulic reservoirs, and accumulators, as well as offer repair services.

We are currently seeking a Quality Engineer for the 145 Repair Station at our Valencia , CA location. We are looking for a self-motivated individual who can work with minimal direction, has strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, and can successfully collaborate across organizations and functions.


Responsibilities
• Manage 145 FAA, EASA, CAAC and UK CAA Quality Management systems (QMS).
• Manage AS9110 MRO QMS.
• Act as the key Quality interface between Triumph Valencia and assigned customer by assuring that customer needs are clearly communicated, understood, and adhered to.
• Review End Item Data Packages (EIDP).
• R&O Manufacturing Planning Review.
• Facilitate the development, institution, verification, and communication of zero defect plans internally and to customers.
• Act as key Quality voice for interactions with Customer / Supplier / Quality representatives.
• Daily collaboration with cross-functional teams including operations, engineering, manufacturing, and inspection to ensure high quality product is delivered to our customers.
• Understand and analyze complex problems and act as the facilitator for leading cross functional teams for customer required RCCAs and MRB submissions.
• Effectively communicate technical issues, solutions, ideas and concepts to a diverse audience including Program Managers, Customers, and Senior Leadership.
• Ensure proper escalation of customer issues as required.
• Support daily material review board dispositions in support of customer concession submissions.
• Use data analytics for products/processes to investigate/ generate nonconformance history, trends, and establish PDCAs to reduce defects.
• Conduct product/process audits and directly support the development of the Quality Management System.
• Interact directly with the final inspection department and conduct inspections as required with inspection equipment.
• Customer requested investigations & failure analysis reporting.
• Maintain & report all Quality metrics pertaining to RMA / R&O activities.
• Participate in program and quality assurance reviews.
• As required, contribute towards APQP (FAIR/PPAP/FMEA/Control Plan) in support of new program launches and develop inspection plans to ensure adherence to customer specifications.
• Other duties as required.

Qualifications

Education Requirements:
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering / Aviation related from an accredited university or college preferred but not required. Certification in Quality Engineering (CQE) or a Quality Auditor (CQA) desired.

Experience Preference:
• Experience four years in Quality Assurance and manufacturing environment preferred.
• Quality experience in Part 145 Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) environment required.
Key Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills; Strong interpersonal and leadership skills; Ability to work in cross-functional global team; Strong oral and written communication skills; Six Sigma training is preferred; Prior experience in interpretation of blueprints / specifications, metrology and manufacturing process planning / evaluation; meet eligibility requirements for FAA Certified Repairman.

Basic Qualifications

• Lean experience.
• Experience with Advanced Quality Processes (PPAP, APQP, PFMEA, 8D, A3 Problem Solving).
• Compliance and Regulatory experience.
• Understanding and use of the DMAIC Process: Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control.
• Experience facilitating effective Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA).
• Working knowledge of Material Review Board (MRB) standards, practices and Customer engagement.
• Experience with New Product Introduction and Program Start-up.
• Proven track record of understanding and managing First Article Inspection.
• Skilled in customer interaction.

Salary: $87,700 - $130,000
